VERO BEACH — The Hibiscus Festival, held Saturday, April 17 in downtown Vero Beach, moved the Art Show site to a new location within the Festival, resulting in more than 30 artists setting up booths.
First place winner of $300 was Scott Murray for his unique block prints. Al Gustave had fine wood turned bowls and vases and won $200 for second place, and Patrice Scott’s fine art won her $100. Fine Art & Fine Craft artists were encouraged to display original artwork and offerings of the artist’s prints, note cards, postcards & small gift items. Lee Orre was the Chairman and Mary Segal was the official judge for the juried show.
Judge Segal chose the winning artists by reviewing their complete body of work rather than individual works of art for the awards. The decision was difficult, as the over-all quality of the fine art show was high.
The 2011 Hibiscus Festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 16.
