INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Seven county water utility customers can expect to be without water for 10 hours on both Saturday and Sunday as crews work to repair a broken gravity sewer main in the area.
Customers affected include five homes on the 2100 block of 6th Avenue SW and two homes on 21st SW.
The water outage is expected to start at about 7 a.m. and last 10 hours both days.
Upon restoration of water service, the Indian River County Utilities Department advises that all water used for the following be boiled (a rolling boil of one minute is sufficient):
Drinking
Cooking
Making ice
Brushing teeth
Hand washing dishes
Bottled water may be used as an alternative.
This boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. The department is unable to provide an exact time of survey completion, though it should be no more than 72 hours.
A rescission notice will be distributed.
Affected properties include:
2108, 2109, 2113, 2114 & 2118 6th Avenue SW
529 and 604 21st Street SW
