Tom Bernard Mathison, 93, Vero Beach

Tom Bernard Mathison, 93, died April 18, 2010, at his home.

He was born in Minneapolis and lived in Vero Beach since 1981. He retired from Kodak after 43 years as a director of the Business System Division.

He was a major in the Army and served at the Harbor Defenses of Puget Sound during World War II. He graduated from the University of Minnesota where he was a member of the Acacia Fraternity. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was a free and accepted Mason, 3rd Degree; a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, a member of the Shriners, a life member of the Power Squadrons of Vero Beach and served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary as a volunteer.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Anne Mathison of Vero Beach; son, Tom Mathison of Fort Lauderdale; daughters, Sandra Erikson of Bedford, Texas, and Lynn Braun of Palm Beach Gardens; stepson, Richard Dewey of Fort Pierce; sister, Doris Danneberg of New Berlin, Wis.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. April 23 at the Lakes of Point West.
