Museum receives gift from “Circle of Friends”

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Museum of Art is pleased to announce that its new giving circle, Circle of Friends, has contributed their inaugural gift this year in support of a valued Museum educational program.

Circle of Friends, initiated last spring, is currently comprised of 61 philanthropic women who contributed $250 each with the goal that the total amount would be gifted annually, by vote, to a Museum program of their choice.

At the group’s closing event, held on the evening of April 12th at the Museum, they selected one of three possible education programs, presented by Director of Education Marshall Adams, that would greatly benefit from their contribution. Circle members voted to gift the amount of $15,250 in support of the Museum’s Artist in the Schools program.

This year the Circle of Friends group was chaired by Lyn Adams, president of the Friends of the Vero Beach Museum of Art . Committee members were Andi Beck, Page Curtis, Joyce Dinsel, Pat Marquis, Maya Peterson, and Diane Wilhelm.

Chairs of the Circle of Friends for the 2010-2011 season will be Diane Wihelm and Margaret Goembel. Committee members will be Lyn Adams, Lee Albro, Leigh Bennett, Jackie Farrell, Pat Marquis, and Maya Peterson. A new slate of three Museum programs for possible support by Circle members will be determined by the chairman, committee members and Museum administration to be voted upon at the Circle of Friends gathering in April 2011.

Members of the Vero Beach community are all invited to participate and contribute to this new and innovative giving circle. Participants need not be members of the Friends of the Vero Beach Museum of Art to participate.
