Nita May Hunter Chase, 79, Vero Beach

Nita May Hunter Chase, 79, died April 11, 2010, at the Indian River Medical Center.

She was born in Versailles, Ind., and lived in Vero Beach for 62 years coming from her birthplace. She worked for Rosenberg’s Shoes and Ladies Apparel in Vero Beach and the Property Appraiser’s Office in Indian River County for 16 years.

She was a member of the King’s Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, both in Vero Beach, for 25 years.

Survivors include her spouse, Louis W. Chase; and son, Bruce Hunter,both of Vero Beach; daughter, Brenda Ames of Fellsmere; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hager O’Neal Hunter; and brothers, Charles Richmond and Lavern Richmond.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Foundation of King’s Baptist Church, 3235 58th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32966.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. April 19 at the King’s Baptist Church in Vero Beach. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. April 20 at the King’s Baptist Church with Pastor Frank Ellis officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
