VERO BEACH — Do you want to be a part of something fun, unique, and a bit wacky to help benefit a good cause in a time of need? Then join the first ever Treasure Coast Shopping Cart Parade and Food Drive, 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, presented by Graves, Hill, and Colton, Attorneys-at-Law.
At the Hibiscus Festival in Downtown Vero Beach, sponsors 93.7 The Breeze, 99.7 Jack fm, 97.1 Ocean fm, and Newsradio 1490 WTTB will partner with Publix, Harvest Food & Outreach Center and various other local sponsors to conduct the first ever Shopping Cart Parade and Food Drive on the Treasure Coast.
Here’s how you can get involved. Starting now, businesses and organizations can pledge to decorate a shopping cart and display their cart onsite to collect non-perishable food for three weeks leading up to the parade. Participants will display their shopping carts all day at the Hibiscus Festival. That afternoon, the shopping carts will be paraded through the streets of the festival before the 15,000+ expected spectators. Prizes will be given for: Most Food Collected and Best Decorated Cart. The food collected will be presented to Harvest Food & Outreach Center which will distribute it free of charge to children and families in crisis on the Treasure Coast.
Join the fun today by calling 772.770.2665 or email info@harvestfoodoutreach.org. Shopping cart availability is limited and provided on a first come first served basis.
