ELC Becomes Wonderland

WABASSO ISLAND — Don’t be late for this very important date. The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) is hosting a whimsical fundraising event Saturday, April 17 at 6:30 pm.  It will be an oversized time this year with the theme “ELC in Wonderland.”  The party will be held in an air-conditioned tent on the ELC’s campus on Wabasso Island along the Indian River Lagoon. After taking a leap down the rabbit hole, drink a tea martini at the Mad Hatter cocktail party.  Watch out for special guests such as the White Rabbit or the Queen of Hearts.  Party guests will enjoy Alice’s Un-birthday buffet dinner, but don’t worry; there won’t be any strange mushrooms. A “must have” silent auction with items donated by several different local retailers and ELC supporters will be under the party tent.  Raise the roof dancing to the band “Think Big!”  The attire for the event is Nonsensical; don’t forget to wear your favorite oversized accessory.

For Guests of the Queen who wish to have reserved seating, together with recognition in the party program, the ticket price is $250 per person.

Friend of Alice tickets for general seating are $175.

Proceeds from the party help to fund ELC’s environmental education programs.  The Environmental Learning Center is a not-for-profit nature center along Florida’s Indian River Lagoon Scenic Highway. Its 64-acre island campus is located between Vero Beach and Sebastian, just south of CR 510 at the western end of the Wabasso Bridge.
