VERO BEACH — Despite being rained out the first day, the Under the Oaks Fine Arts and Crafts show drew a record crowd of 80,000, said Christina Tascon, office manager for the Vero Beach Art Club.
Since Under the Oaks does not charge admission, the two-day total was an estimate by the Vero Beach Police Department, which provided security during the event. Had the showbeen able to go off Friday it could have easily drawn over 100,000 people, Tascon was told.
The 59th Under the Oaks will serve as the main fundraiser for the Vero Beach Art Club to cover operating costs and to provide a scholarship for a high school senior to continue an arts education.
