John Culloden Vredenburgh, 95, died March 2, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House.
He was born in Park City, Mont., and grew up in Santa Monica, Calif. and Somerset, N.J. He lived in Vero Beach since 1976.
He attended Rutgers College, New Brunswick, N.J., and was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He worked in finance for Douglas Aircraft in Eritrea, Arabian American Oil Co. in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and was treasurer for Standard Oil of Indiana in Chicago.
He also was on the boards of of directors of several corporations, including that of Banco De Roma and Zimmer Paper Products in Indiana.
He was a member of the Wildlife Preservation Trust, WWF, U.S. Tennis Association and the Holland Society.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Barbara Jeanette Vredenburgh; son, Peter Vredenburgh; daughter, Katharine V. Ellis; sister, Katharine Strain; and one grandchild.
