Guest artist Louise Jones-Takata featured at Artists Guild Gallery

VERO BEACH — The Artists Guild Gallery proudly presents “The Florida Collection: Colors of Nature, Life and Beauty,” featuring works by April guest artist Louise Jones-Takata.  Her colorful works in acrylic and oil will be on display from April 1 through April 30 and an Opening Reception, free and open to the public, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 2.

Louise shares her time between New York City and Vero Beach, enjoying the best of both worlds.  Canadian born, she has studied marble sculpture with Philip Pavia, and at the Arts Students League in New York City.  Louise studied painting with Don Stacy also in New York City, and continues to paint at Stacy Studio.  In Vero Beach she studies with Carol Mann.

A career in travel and tourism exposed Louise to the finest museums and best art collections around the globe, inspiring and impassioning her throughout her work life.  Her body of work includes Florida landscapes, nudes, flowers and animals, rendered with vibrant color and sweeping brushstrokes.  Using a variety of painting techniques, Louise’s work reflects her passion for the lush Florida land- and seascape in an interesting array of realistic and impressionistic styles.  “Art is my passion,” says Louise, “and I can’t possibly want to live without it!”

Louise has exhibited in numerous group shows in Manhattan, including the Salmagundi Club, the National Art Center and Sculpture Center; and the DeGroot Mann Gallery in Vero Beach.  She is a member of the Vero Beach Art Club, the Vero Beach Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art also in NYC, and her work resides in numerous private collections in Canada, Europe and the United States.

The Artists Guild Gallery will also have many new works on display by its Artist Members and consignors, offering paintings in every medium, and including works in glass, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, collage and fine art prints.

Each month the galleries within the Guild are rotated and installed with new works, so the viewing is always fresh and new.   The Gallery, located at 1974 14th Avenue in the heart of the Dine and Design District of Vero Beach (corner of 14th Avenue and SR 60 East, offers more than ten rooms of fabulous art. Hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
