VERO BEACH — The second annual Senior Resource Association Senior Legacy Golf Tournament returns to Bent Pine Golf Club, in Vero Beach on Friday, March 26. Golfers of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to play.
Registration begins at 11 am, a light lunch is served at noon, and players will hit the greens beginning at 1:15 pm. Cost is $150 per player ($135 each for senior players, age 60 and up) with proceeds benefiting the Senior Resource Association.
Teams and individuals, whether affiliated with a golf organization or not, are encouraged to play. Single golfers will be matched up with a team. Post-tournament festivities include an open-bar cocktail party, auction, and door prizes and are available to tournament player spouses or guests for $30 per person.
A hole-in-one will land the golfer a brand new boat, valued at over $25,000, donated by Vero Marine Center. Additional prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin, longest drive, and both ladies’ and men’s team prizes. Each player will receive a custom-fitted Cabretta glove and a ball marker as part of their tee package.
“Although this tournament is open to golfers of all ages, the event is in honor of our seniors across the county,” said Karen Deigl, President and CEO of the Senior Resource Association. “Last year’s event raised money to help SRA raise awareness and funds to meet the needs of seniors in our community.”
The Senior Resource Association has been providing activities, education and services to seniors throughout Indian River County since 1974. Some of its programs and services include Meals on Wheels, Adult Day Care, and Senior Center activities.
