Firefighters’ Fair runs now through March 21

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Firefighters’ Fair will be Friday, March 12 through Sunday, March 21 at 7955 58th Ave., in Vero Beach. Advance tickets are on sale through March 11, with $1 off admission tickets and 50 percent off ride tickets.

Popular attractions and shows returning include The Firefighter Training Show, Demolition Derby and Mini Car Heat and the Flat Track Quad Races, Marcus Magic Illusion & Comedy Show, and the Jon Simon Comedy Hypnosis Show. As always, the Indian River County Youth 4-H Clubs and their projects will be on display in the Livestock Pavilion.

A new show planned for this year is the IGX Interactive Game Experience. Located inside the main exhibit hall will be a multi-platform, multi-screen video game environment, which incorporates Nintendo Wii, Microsoft XBOX 360 and Sony PS3 into an attractive and fun set up.

Sports and music game tournaments– including Guitar Hero– will be part of the fun, and all games are rated “C” for Children, “T” for Teen or “E” for Everyone.

The Exhibit Hall will again be open and will highlight local businesses and organizations.

The Firefighters’ Fair is a nonprofit organization. All proceeds from the fair benefit the Indian River County Burn Fund, local scholarships, fairground improvements and other charitable organizations.

Hours:

Monday through Thursday: 5 to 11 p.m.

Friday: 5 p.m. to midnight

Saturday: 1 p.m. to midnight

Sunday: 1 p.m.  to 11 p.m.

Admission remains $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and children 6 to 12. Children 5 and under are free. Parking is free.
