Sophina Odom, 89, died Feb. 26, 2010, at her home.
She was born in Midville, Ga., and moved to Indian River County 60 years ago, coming from her birth place.
Before retirement, she was a cook for Headstart. She was a member of Mount Zion AME Church of Gifford.
Survivors include her husband, Tyler Odom of Vero Beach; daughters, Jo Ann Brazier of West Palm Beach and Natalie Sanders, Mary Lee Brown and Tomasina Phinizee, all of Vero Beach; sister, Lula Mae Jefferson of Vero Beach; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hortense/Mills Chapel in Vero Beach.
A service will be at 11 a.m. March 6 at Mount Zion AME Church with burial at Gifford Cemetery to follow.
