G. Ellsworth Byers, 92, died Feb. 24, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born in Lonaconing, Md., and lived in Vero Beach for 35 years, coming from College Park, Md.
He graduated from Central High School in Lonaconing and the University of Maryland, where he received a bachelor of arts degree.
Before retirement, he was a personnel officer for the Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Shriners.
Survivors include his son, Gordon E. Byers of Vero Beach; daughter, Anne Joyce Cunningham of Hampton, Va.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances P. Byers.
Services will be private.
