INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Recreation Department will be hosting three free “specialty” egg hunts as a part of the Egg-stravaganza Festival week this spring. These hunts will be held throughout the entire county, including Sebastian, Gifford and south county, in a pool and in the dark. The egg hunts will be held on March 29 and 30 and April 1for children up to 12 years of age.
March 29: “Water Egg Hunt” at the North County Aquatic Center, 9450 95th St., Sebastian; Ages – infants to 8; Time – 6:30 p.m.; Details: The children’s swimming area will be covered in plastic Easter Eggs that will float on the water’s surface for the children to scoop up. Please remember to bring your swimsuits and towels. And please no plastic bags.
March 30: Indoor Flashlight Egg Hunt at the Gifford Youth Activities Center, 4875 43rd Ave., Gifford; Ages – infants to 12; Time – 7:45 p.m. Details: Bring your flashlight to the Gifford Youth Activities Center as the lights in the gym will be turned off. Please remember to bring a flashlight and a basket for this hunt.
April 1: Outdoor Flashlight Hunt Egg-stravaganza at the South County Park, 800 20th Ave. SW, Vero Beach; Time – 7:45 p.m.; Ages – infants to 8; Details: The egg hunt will be held in the dark! This promises to be the most unique and largest egg hunt on the Treasure Coast. Prizes will be awarded to all participants. Golden Eggs and special Easter Baskets will be given in all age groups. Please remember to bring a flashlight and a basket to this hunt.
