Indian River Symphonic Association presents Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra

VERO BEACH — The Indian River Symphonic Association will present a concert by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 15, at the Community Church of Vero Beach.  Music Director JoAnn Falletta will conduct the orchestra and piano soloist Fabio Bidini will perform the G Major Piano Concerto of Ravel.

Ms. Falletta, who has been Music Director of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra since 1999, also serves as Music Director for the Virginia Symphony.  She has appeared as guest conductor with fine symphony orchestras, including the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and over 100 North American orchestras, as well as many continental orchestras.  Her artistry has been rewarded with numerous conducting awards, including the Seaver/National Endowment for the Arts Conductors Award and the coveted Stokowski Competition.

Mr. Bidini has played with many prominent orchestras and conductors, including Michael Tilson Thomas and the London Symphony Orchestra, and Joel Levi and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.  He teaches as professor at the world-renown “Hochschule fur Musik Hanns Eisler” in Berlin.

Rossini                        –            Semiramide Overture

Ravel                           –            Piano Concerto in G Major

Rachmaninoff            –            Symphony No. 2 in E Minor
