Flamingo Fling Golf Tournament to benefit breast cancer patients

VERO BEACH — Flamingos and foursomes and fun…oh my!  You’ll be tickled pink at this year’s 3rd Annual Golf Tournament to benefit area breast cancer patients through the American Cancer Society. “The Flamingo Fling” fundraiser is being held at The Club at Pointe West on Sunday, March 21, kicking off with a four-person scramble format golf tournament at 1 p.m.   Mulligans, throw-ins and raffle tickets will all be on sale before the Shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded to winning teams in the categories of; all women, all men and mixed couples. Prizes will also be awarded to both women and men for Closest to the Pin.

This year we have added a 9-hole Senior Tournament that will be played on Sunday, March 14 beginning at 2 p.m.  Players will then return on March 21st to join the 18-holers for dinner and festivities.  Following the March 21 tournament, enjoy a fabulous dinner buffet featuring both a live and silent auction plus over 30 fabulous gift baskets will be raffled off.

Registration fee is $75 which includes golf and dinner, $35 to enjoy dinner only or $40 for the 9-hole Senior Scramble and dinner. Non-golfers are encouraged to come and participate in the dinner and festivities.

The funds raised will be used for breast cancer patient services such as mammograms, wigs prosthesis, transportation to therapies, coping classes and more in Indian River County.

“Fanny Flamingo” will be back making a guest appearance and the “Pink Ribbon Garden”, made up of 100 potted pink flowers, will be on display from March 7th until the tournament. With a $5.00 minimum donation, you’ll have the opportunity to honor or remember someone whose life has been touched by cancer. The flowers will be planted on the golf course after the event.
