Cecile M. Shea, 89, of Vero Beach, formerly of Bronx, N.Y., died on Feb. 15, 2010.
She was a beloved sister of Muriel Jones (William), cherished aunt of Jill (Shelly), Kerry, Billy, Jack (Lynda), Michael (Joyce), Gina and great aunt of Ryan, Brelan, Jessica, Jaden and Brennen.
After graduating from Fordham University she taught at Mt. St. Ursula in the Bronx and then worked for New York Telephone Co. for 30 years.
She gave of her time coaching basketball and serving as a Girl Scout leader. She was inducted into the Pioneer’s Hall of Fame after her retirement and served as Vice-President.
After moving to Fort Pierce she became involved in many activities at St. Helen’s including serving as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister and serving on many committees.
A Mass will be celebrated at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach on Tues, Feb. 23 at noon. A reception will follow in the Hall. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in New York.
