VERO BEACH — The 2010 St. Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 13 at 10 a.m. north along Ocean Drive from Flamevine Lane to Azalea Lane and west to Cardinal Drive.
The colorful Vero Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade is designed to promote Irish culture and heritage on the Treasure Coast. Traditionally, St. Patrick’s Day Parades honor St. Patrick, the patron Saint of Ireland, for his contribution to Christianity, social and cultural values worldwide.
There is no cost to enter the parade, so clergy, church groups, civic clubs, marching troops, dancers, twirlers, color guards, floats, antique cars, scout troops and musicians as well as police, fire and emergency personnel and our elected officials are encouraged to participate. We offer a special invitation for families to come and march in the parade as a family unit.
“Wearing of the Green” and other appropriate decorations honoring the Green Isle of Ireland and its Patron Saint, St. Patrick, are encouraged – Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.
