James Leo Franks, 70, died Jan. 25, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Riviera Beach.
He was born in Joiner, Ark., and lived in Vero Beach for 32 years, coming from Haines City.
Before retirement in 2001, he was employed by Indian River County School Board for 20 years. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 4374 and Vero Beach Moose Lodge 1822, both of Vero Beach.
Survivors include his daughters, Brenda K. Williams and Vicky Spiratos, both of Vero Beach; brothers, Sonny Franks of Mulberry, J.C. Franks of Kenansville, Billy Joe Franks and Gordan Franks, both of Peoria, Ill., and Monroe Franks of Leipsic, Ohio; sisters, Flossie Mae Franks of Fort Pierce and Loretta Lozell of Winter Haven; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen C. Franks; and daughter, Goldie Lindhorst.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Jan. 30 at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
