Donald Albert Ripke, 77, died Jan. 25, 2010, at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
He was born March 19, 1932 in Baltimore and moved to Vero Beach in 2001, coming from Chapel Hill, N.C. Before retirement, he was an advertising executive for J. Walter Thompson in New York City.
He received a bachelor’s degree from John Hopkins University and a master’s degree in creative writing from Towson University.
Survivors include his daughter, Ellen Smith of Baltimore.
