VERO BEACH — The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County’s will be offering an Introduction to Tellington Touch workshop on Saturday, Jan. 23 from 1:30 to 5 p.m. The workshop will be held at the shelter’s Adoption and Education Center, located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach.
Developed by animal expert Linda Tellington-Jones, Tellington Touch (also known as TTouch) is a therapy that primarily uses circular massage-like movements around an animal’s body to help relieve pain, stress and fear. TTouch uses these specific touches in combination with other movements and exercises for therapeutic effects. TTouch has been used to facilitate healing in both companion animals and wildlife.
The workshop will be conducted by certified Tellington Touch practitioners Deirdre Chitwood of Stuart and Kathi Lehman of Gainesville. Chitwood and Lehman will demonstrate a variety of TTouch movements and exercises.
The workshop is $10 and includes materials, light snacks and beverages. Space is limited therefore advance registration by Jan. 21 is required.
