Alice Caspersen Kristiansen, 95, died Dec. 23, 2009, at Indian River Medical Center.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach since 1983. Before retirement, she was executive secretary to E.F. Von Arx, manager, Sperry Systems Management in Great Neck, N.Y., for 27 years.
She began her career in 1934 at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. as a clerk typist. She later worked as secretary to the head of the Engineering Department at the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y.
During her years at Sperry she was active in the National Secretarial Association and served on their board. She graduated from Great Neck High School in Great Neck and attended Drake Business School and Pace Institute in New York City.
Survivors include her sister, Mildred K. Rick of Sharon, Conn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Kristiansen, who died during World War II as a member of the Norwegian navy.

A private memorial service will be in Connecticut at a later date. Burial will be at Greenfield Cemetery in Hempstead, N.Y.
