Lewis O. Fresh, 93, died Dec. 22, 2009, at the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach. He was born in Birdsville, Ky., and lived in Vero Beach since 1935, coming from Titusville.
He served in the Army during World War II, serving in the China Burma India Theater as a surgical technician and was awarded the Bronze Star.
He was a film projectionist for the Florida Theater for more than 40 years, a school bus driver in Indian River County and worked for the Road and Bridge Department of the Florida Department of Transportation.
He was a member of the American Legion and the First Baptist Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his son, Danny Fresh of Vero Beach. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Joel Deen Fresh; sister, Alliene Taylor; and brothers, Alvin, Champ and R.G.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 29 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel, Vero Beach. A service will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 30 at First Baptist Church in Vero Beach with the Rev. Derrick West and the Rev. James Graves presiding.
