Harold John Neubauer, 84, Vero Beach

Harold John Neubauer, 84, died Dec. 20, 2009, at Consulate Health Care of Vero Beach.

He was born in Buffalo, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 29 years, coming from Amherst, N.Y. He served in the Navy during World War II.

He worked for Curtis Wright before becoming a firefighter for the city of Buffalo. He was a member of the Poincianna Club in Village Green, serving two years as president. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joan C. Neubauer of Vero Beach; sons, James Neil Neubauer of Vero Beach and William John Neubauer of Sebastian; sister, Virginia Deverell of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 900 27th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 26 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Vero Beach.
