Dolores Joan Rogers, 76, Vero Beach

Dolores Joan Rogers, 76, died Dec. 10, 2009, at Indian River Medical Center. She was born in Coffeeville, Kan., and lived in Vero Beach since 1978, coming from Key West. She graduated from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan., in 1955 with a bachelor of arts degree in education. She worked as a teacher for 44 years, 21 of those at Vero Beach Elementary. After her retirement in 1999, she was a volunteer at Vero Beach Elementary for four years and Rosewood Magnet for six years. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Vero Beach. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Floyd Eugene Rogers; daughters, Kimberley Stewart of Orlando and Rebecca Etter of Vero Beach; sons, Randall Rogers of Sebastian, Terry Rogers of Vero Beach, Kevin Stewart of Orlando and Tony Etter of Vero Beach; sister, Margaret Travis of Lawrence, Kan., and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Rogers; and brothers, Robert Okla Carlile Jr. and Glenn Wiley Carlile. Memorial contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 1708 43rd Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 15 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 16 at Asbury United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Thomas S.
