INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Pampered, preened and pedigreed, the stars of the Cat Fanciers’ Association Cat Show took on the whole process with an air of aloofness and ennui as only felines can do.
Unlike dog shows, where the competition takes place in an open ring, cats are carried to the judging area and placed in a ring of cages. Judges remove the cats individually to examine them on the judging stand, evaluating each one on how closely they meet the standards for the various breed.
More than 200 cats from around the country competed in the show, held Saturday at the Indian River County Fairgrounds. {igallery 122}
