INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County utilities customers on Plantation Drive in the Vista Plantation community can expect their water to be shut off for about two hours Tuesday, Dec. 8, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The affected customers are those at Building 3, units 101 to 206.
The Utilities Department will be replacing a compound meter to provide improved water service to those customers.
After water is restored, customers must bring their water to a full rolling boil for one minute prior to using for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and hand-washing dishes. Bottled water can be used as an alternative to boiling the water.
The boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink, which should take less than 72 hours. A rescission notice will be distributed.
