Henry Kenneth Metz, Sr. 79, lifelong resident of Vero Beach

Henry Kenneth Metz, Sr. 79, died Nov. 26, 2009. He was a lifetime resident of Vero Beach and a 1948 graduate of Vero Beach High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the Warship USS Boxer. Metz was an electrician, he worked at the St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.  He was a member of Elks Lodge #1774, Vero Beach and an exceptional athlete, participating in all sports.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Metz of Vero Beach, children, Henry Kenneth Metz, Jr. of New York City, Henry Bauer of Charlotte, Vt., Gretchen Metz of Vero Beach, Lynn Feely of Raleigh, N.C. and Jan Trabulsi of Midland Park, N.J.; brother, Jack C. Metz of Vero Beach; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughters, June Metz, Betty Metz and Gayle Harmke; granddaughter, Danita Metz; brothers, William G. Metz and George R. Metz and sister, Mary E Jones. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 3333 Forest Hill Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL in memory of Mr. Metz. Interment will be in Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach and was with military honors conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3918, Vero Beach. A guest book maybe signed at www.tributes.com.
