Vero Beach Opera announces 2010 season

VERO BEACH – The Vero Beach Opera has announced an exciting season of four events, from tango dancing, Italian and Spanish guitar music to Metropolitan Opera stars, all being held at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center. Sunday, January 17 at 3 p.m. – Musical Extravaganza on Artists, includes Roman Ortega-Cowan, Tania Ortega-Cowan, Frankie Holiday, Asya and Oleg Dimitrov, and operatic Diva Susan Neves. The VBHS Symphony Orchestra will perform the overture from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro.

Saturday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. – The Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artists In Concert

Saturday, March 20 at 8 p.m. –  Marcello Giordani stars in the Deborah Voigt/Vero Beach Opera Foundation Concert.  Maestro Steve Mercurio, who arranges for Marcello as well as Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli, will be conducting the Brevard Symphony Orchestra.

Sunday, March 28 at 3 p.m. – Gianni Schicchi & Suor Angelica: Stetson University Opera presents full productions of two one-act operas featuring their young artists, chorus and 55-piece orchestra.
