CAMERA BLOG: “Four” What does it mean to you?

Recently I judged the Indian River Photo Club’s October photo contest. The theme was simply “four.”

Since Pat Rice approached me about judging the contest on the sidelines at a Vero Beach football game I had been seeing possible images symbolizing the theme. Some were blatant like the number four on a jersey and others were simply groupings of objects.

These are the photos there were selected from the contest. There were a wide variety of takes on the theme. I am also proud to say that I have joined the club myself. See you all Thursday.

Geneva Jo Lewis, 51, Vero Beach

Geneva Jo Lewis, 51, died June 21, 2011, at her home. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, and lived in Vero Beach since 1971, coming from New Paris, Ohio. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Vero Beach and Veterans Club of Vero Beach. Survivors include her daughters, Jamie Wynn and Sheri Johnson, both of Vero Beach; father, James J. Lewis, of Vero Beach; sister Linda Hill, of Vero Beach; and brothers, Mark Lewis, of Appleton, Wis., and Richard Lewis, of Vero Beach. Stephen Russell Powell, Jr., 75, Vero Beach

Stephen Russell Powell, Jr., 75, of Vero Beach, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at home in Vero Beach. Powell was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Sewell, N.J. He served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Rutgers University. He was one of the founding partners of Lambda Technologies Inc., and TRECOM Business Systems in N.Y. & N.J. He was a resident of Maplewood, N.J., before retiring to Vero Beach 15 years ago.
