Night of Lights Dec. 4 to benefit Exchange Club

VERO BEACH — Tara Plantation will open its doors at 7 p.m. Friday, December 4 for the Third Annual Night of Lights at Tara Plantation, hosted by the Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast. The incredible outdoor Christmas lights at Tara Plantation, the Law Offices of Grall, Glenn and Grall, have been delighting residents and visitors since 1990.  The impressive display was lit on Sunday and will be up until New Year’s Eve. Along the long rectangular drive there are trains, sleighs and even Santa in a helicopter, assorted animals, a beautiful Christmas Crèche and much more, colorfully lit with thousands of twinkling lights all reflecting into the lake.

And inside, the decorations are just as spectacular; all 20 of the imaginatively decorated, holiday themed rooms will be yours to peruse at the Night of Lights. Hundreds of Snow Village pieces are displayed along with trains and other collectibles from the Grall’s travels around the world. Each year the décor and themes are changed to reflect new creative ideas. The evening will include a diverse sampling of wines from Pearl, Ti Amo Sempre, the Tides and MT’s Chophouse, (cash bar), gourmet hors d’oeuvres by Culinary Capers, music and dancing to Rush Release and a silent auction featuring some unique gift items. The dress is cocktail attire, but food, dancing and some of the other activities are outdoors so keep that in mind when planning your outfit.  Tickets are $50; proceeds benefit child abuse prevention and local scholarships.  The event’s galaxy sponsor is Treasure and Space Coast Radio.

Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast contributes to a variety of charities that promote the prevention of child abuse, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County, Healthy Start, and Youth Guidance. Proceeds also provide scholarship money to deserving local high school seniors.

Park at the polo grounds (on 16th Street) at Pointe West; buses will take you to Tara Plantation.
