Boil Water Notice issued for Building 38 in Vista Gardens

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A boil water notice advisory has been issued for 15 customers in building 38 of Vista Gardens Tuesday afternoon.

Water was shut off around 3 p.m. and was scheduled to be turned on at 4:30 p.m. due to a water main break. Once water is restored, residents will need to boil their water for one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth and hand washing dishes.

Bottled water can be used instead of boiling water if residents so choose.

This boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.

The county’s Utilities Department is unable to provide an exact time of survey completion, though it should be no longer than 72 hours. A rescission notice will be distributed.
