VERO BEACH — Dyer Chevrolet and Dyer Mazda Subaru are pleased to announce The Salvation Army of Indian River County as the 18th recipient of the Dyer Difference Award. The award salutes a 501 C3 non-profit or Organization in Indian River County that is truly making a difference in our community.
Tatiana and Will Dyer on behalf of Dyer Chevrolet, Mazda and Subaru presented the Dyer Difference Award along with a $3000 check to help them promote their well-loved event: Christmas in Downtown. This year, it will take place on November 27th from 3:30 – 8:30 p.m. in Downtown Vero Beach. The event serves as the official kick off for their Annual Red Kettle Campaign.
The Salvation Army of Indian River County is a social services organization whose mission is to meet, without discrimination, the physical and spiritual needs of all members of the local community. They are committed to helping those in need achieve personal growth and self-sufficiency through all available resources, community partnerships and local volunteer networks.
The Red Kettle Fundraising Campaign Supports programs throughout the entire year. Emergency Services Program helps with such costs as utility bills, rent & mortgage payments, prescription costs, and other similar items to low-income families. Feeding Program includes an emergency food pantry and a soup kitchen which provides meals to shut-ins and low-income families in the community and serves over 900 meals per month through the mobile Salvation Army Canteen. Disaster Services meet emergency needs in times of regional and national disasters. Christmas Assistance, a well-known Holiday program distributes food, clothing, and toys to needy children and seniors throughout Indian River County each Christmas season.
