INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An eighth grader at Storm Grove Middle School was arrested Monday, accused of breaking into the school over the weekend and accessing porn on a computer in the custodian room.The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office responded to the school Monday at the request of Principle Shawn O’Keefe after security camera footage revealed the 14-year-old student breaking into the school by slipping under a gate and searching for open doors.According to the arrest report, the student went into the custodian room and accessed the computer and visited porn Web sites from 2:36 to 3:41 p.m. While in the room, he caused damage.The student then left the room and tried to get through another set of doors, causing an estimated $1,200 worth of damage there, the report states.While on campus, the student also attempted to gain access to the Proctor work trailer by using tools. The student tried to open a window, which caused the alarm to go off.After authorities arrived to the middle school Monday, the student told investigators that he did go into the school over the weekend, accessed the custodian room, ate cookies, used the phone, and the bathroom, the Sheriff’s Office said. The student also said he tried to get into the work trailer.The student faces felony charges of burglary of a structure and attempted burglary, according to the Sheriff’s Office.Due to the student’s age, VeroNews.com has declined to name the minor.
