VERO BEACH — Some came looking for bargains and some just for the fun of it, but everyone went home happy after the Hibiscus Children’s Center Girls Night Out shopping extravaganza at Holy Cross Parish Hall. Event chairs Nancy Hendricks and Sybille Ludwig and their extensive committee enlisted the support of more than two dozen local vendors and almost as many food sponsors for a festive evening of shopping and camaraderie.
Each attendee received a pink Girls Night Out shopping bag and, with the number of women in attendance, chances are good that you’ll be seeing them all around town. Guests enjoyed a tempting assortment of complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres, including some luscious looking desserts, perused the vendors and caught up with one another after a long, hot summer.
This is the second time the Hibiscus Indian River Guild has held the event. “Holy Cross donated the space and has been an enormous help to us,” said committee member Carole Casey. “And the vendors are so important to us; we want to make sure they’re taken care of and help boost their businesses. It’s not just shopping, it’s the whole experience.” Casey is chairing their December 5th Winter Gala at the Moorings which sounds like it’s going to be spectacular!
Funds raised help the Hibiscus Children’s Center mission to prevent child abuse, neglect, and abandonment in our community. HCC provides residential care facilities, foster care licensing and training, a state-of-the-art Child Development Center, mental health services and family support programs. {igallery 80}
