VERO BEACH — Newly-elected City Council member Brian Heady said Wednesday he has no intention of challenging the right of also newly-elected City Council member Charlie Wilson to serve his term.A local columnist quoted Heady as saying he was “inclined” to file suit over whether Wilson bent the rules concerning residency qualifications for City Council candidates. At question was whether Wilson’s move into the city limits three days before the deadline for candidates to file for office disqualified him from running. Wilson had a citizen complaint filed on the matter and was cleared by the State Attorney’s office before going on to win his Council seat with 1,059 votes. Heady, who came in second with 932 votes, said despite the reference to his inclinations in the column he has never contacted a lawyer concerning Wilson and he has no plans to do so in the future.”I am happy Charlie Wilson got elected,” Heady said after the column appeared. “Now the City Council can move forward in a positive direction.”
