Frederick A. Moeller, 89, Vero Beach

Frederick A. Moeller, 89, of Vero Beach, died suddenly on October 30, 2009.Born in Pittsburgh, he graduated from Central Catholic High School and from Duquesne University with a degree in Business Administration. Mr. Moeller was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and served in the Pacific Theater as a 1st Lieutenant as a forward observer in the field artillery.Following his military service, he married Mary Louise (Heimbuecher). They lived in Pittsburgh then moved to Yardley, Pa., where they raised three sons.Fred worked in the insurance industry as a claims manager for 40 years.He retired from Hartford Insurance Co., Philadelphia and moved to Vero Beach in 1980.Fred was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also volunteered with St. Helen Catholic Church and community organizations of Vero Beach.Fred was predeceased by his brothers, Max and Joe.Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Mary Louise, three sons; Rick (Rae) ofDurango, Colo., Chuck (Debra) of Richmond Hill, Ga., and David of FollyBeach, S.C. He also has 4 grandchildren; Fritz, William, Chelsea (Derek) and Jenna.InLLieu of flowers, send donations to a charity of your choice.A memorial mass will be held at St. Helen Catholic church on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at 10 a.m.Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas S.
