VERO BEACH — The non-profit Indian River Bromeliad Society invites you to learn about the wonderful world of Bromeliads, 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) Monday, Nov. 9 at the Garden Club of Indian River County. The guest speaker will be Dean Fairchild, bromeliad expert and BSI judge. The goal of the Bromeliad Society, which meets the second Monday of the month is to promote these easy to grow, low maintenance variety of plants. With such a vast number of varieties, shapes, colors, and forms, there is a type for everyone. The Bromeliad Society promotes an interest in the propagation, growth, culture, and scientific study of bromeliads as well as generate community interest in bromeliads.
Meetings feature speakers, educational workshops, monthly raffles, plants sales, refreshments, auctions, show & tell, field trips to nurseries and gardens, trips to Bromeliad shows and conferences, and are also a great way to cultivate friendships.
