Call of nature leads to man’s arrest for indecent exposure

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A south county man couldn’t wait to get home to answer the call of nature, according to his arrest report.

A deputy pulled over David Austin Byrne, 55, of 3rd Street S.W., Vero Beach, on 2nd Street on suspicion of Byrne driving under the influence on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

However, DUI wasn’t the charge Byrne was arrested on. While waiting on a tow truck to collect his van, Byrne stepped away from the road, according to the deputy and unzipped his pants and began to urinate.

The deputy approached Byrne and asked him about the incident, to which Byrne responded: “I had to take a piss,” the report states.

Byrne was arrested and taken to the county jail on a charge of indecent exposure. He has since been released on $500 bond.
