Brittany Joy Lindstrom, 20, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009. She was born May 20, 1989 in Pompton Plains, N.J. and moved to Vero Beach in 2002, coming from Fairfield Beach, Conn. Brittany graduated with Honors, from Indian River Charter High School, Vero Beach, Class of 2007. She earned a Bright Futures Scholarship and was attending Indian River State College. Brittany was working as veterinary technician for East Coast Equine, Vero Beach, for the past several years.Prior to attending the Charter High School, Brittany was a student at St. Edward’s Upper School and, as a freshman, led the Lady Pirates volleyball team to many victories. Brittany was an equestrian jumper. She was the owner, rider and trainer, of thoroughbred, “Vegas” and dutch warmblood, “Simba.” Brittany recently competed in the Palm Beach International Festival, earning 1st Place – Grand Champion. She was a certified scuba diver and was All Around Women’s Snowboard Champion 2007, Bromley Mountain, Vt. Brittany was a member of Pointe West Golf Club, Pointe West Polo Club, of Vero Beach & Rubidoux, Stables, Fort Pierce. Brittany attended Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church, Vero Beach. She is survived by her mother, Helene Lindstrom of Vero Beach; father, James Lindstrom of Islamorada; and her maternal grandparents, Catherine & Stephen Silk of Wayne, N.J. Brittany was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Virginia & Ellsworth Lindstrom. A memorial service will by held 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, at Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church, Vero Beach, with Pastor Dawn E. Reichard, officiating.
