VERO BEACH — Chef Kitty Wagner opened the doors of her Undertow Restaurant for an American Cancer Society kickoff party, getting the committee fired up for the 10th Anniversary of the Indian River Citrus Gala and Cattle Barons’ Ball. The always popular fundraiser will be held on March 6 at the Paris Air hanger with a new theme – Stetsons & Stilettos! Diane and Vinnie Parentela are chairing the event along with co-chair Peter Jones.
The committee discussed plans and mingled over some of Kitty’s famous dishes, and learned a little more about a new twist to the event. Artist Ruth Ann Holt, famous for her fabulous TurtleTrax mermaid turtles, has issued a call to artists. Her committee will be choosing 10 artists to decorate 12″ high ceramic western styled boots. The completed boots will be auctioned off at the event – all in an effort to “Give Cancer the Boot!”
