Vero Beach, Sebastian voters could have new polling location

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Many voters eligible for the upcoming Municipal General Elections will be receiving new voter information cards informing them of their new polling location. “In these hard economic times, consolidating polling locations allows me to cut costs by reducing workers, rental costs and supply costs,” said Supervisor of Elections Kay Clem.

The following polling place changes are permanent:

Voters in Precinct 104 (VFW Post #10210) will now vote at Sebastian Elementary School, 400 County Road 512, Sebastian

Voters in Precinct 203 (Calvary Baptist Church) will now vote at Sebastian Christian Church, 190 Day Drive, Sebastian

Voters in Precinct 303 (Leisure Square) will now vote at Treasure Coast Assembly of God, 3660 16th Street, Vero Beach

Voters in Precinct 304 (St. Helen Catholic Church) & Precinct 505 (Indian River County Library) will now vote at Trinity Episcopal Great Hall, 2365 Pine Avenue, Vero Beach

Voters in Precinct 508 (Bethel Creek House), Precinct 509 (Beachland Elementary School), & Precinct 510 (River House) will now vote at Christ By The Sea UMC, 3755 Highway A1A, Vero Beach

There are two “temporary” polling place changes in Sebastian. Voters who now reside within the City of Sebastian and who previously voted at Precinct 101 (Community Baptist Church) will now vote at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 13075 US 1, Sebastian, and voters in Precinct 108 (Liberty Magnet School) will now vote at North Indian River County Library, 1001 County Road 512, Sebastian.

Only voters who reside in the cities of Sebastian and Vero Beach are eligible to vote in the upcoming Nov. 3, Municipal General Elections. Photo and signature identification are required to vote. Anyone without a valid ID can vote a provisional ballot. The canvassing board will later determine the validity of any provisional ballots. For more information about early voting or to view a sample ballot go to www.voteindianriver.com . All registered voters are also eligible to vote by mail. To request a mail ballot, visit the Supervisor of Elections Web site or call (772) 226-3440. The deadline to request that a ballot be mailed to you is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Voters may pick up ballots through Election Day. Mail ballots must be returned to the Supervisor of Elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day and cannot be accepted at polling places.
