Sebastian Clambake Lagoon Festival Nov. 6 – 8

The Sebastian Clambake Lagoon Festival is back – this year’s slogan is “There’s No Business like Clam Business.” The event takes place at Sebastian’s Riverview Park Friday, Nov. 6 from 2 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fresh seafood booths, live music, historic re-enactments, a boat show, the Wacky Raft Race, the Kid’s Zone, a volleyball tournament, the Press-Journal Chowder Cook-Off, the Kayak Poker Run, vendor booths and more, will again be the focus.  Admission is free – tickets will be sold for food and T-shirts.

The Sebastian Clambake, billed as a Lagoon Festival, celebrates our special way of life along the Indian River, the life-blood of our community from the beginning. The lagoon provides people with recreation, tranquil beauty and has fed numerous generations. The Festival is known throughout the state for the quality of its food, including linguine with red & white clam sauce, peel & eat tiger shrimp, clam chowder, fried fish & clam strips, fabulous clams, and sausage, pepper & onion sandwiches. And don’t forget the cold draft beer and sodas.

The Sebastian Clambake Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, organizes the festival, and the proceeds are dedicated to local non-profit capital projects; to date the foundation has granted more than $220,000 to local charities. Volunteers comprise the entire labor force.

Six organizations will benefit from the event: H.A.L.O. Animal Rescue Shelter, Sebastian VFW, By the River senior housing, Sharks youth football, Sebastian Boys & Girls Club, and the Sebastian Soccer Association.
