A Nightmare to benefit the Environmental Learning Center Oct. 24

VERO BEACH — A special showing of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in Disney Digital 3-D” will be shown at The Majestic 11 Theatre in Vero Beach on Oct. 24. The event, sponsored by Omni Financial and The Majestic 11, will benefit the Environmental Learning Center’s Fire Fund Campaign.

The fun-filled evening of entertainment is for all ages. Parents should be aware the film is rated PG (parental guidance suggested) for its scary images. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. with the film starting one hour later. Events before the showing include a raffle for prizes including an autographed photo of Chris Sarandon (the voice of “Jack Skellington” in The Nightmare Before Christmas), a children’s costume contest with prizes (ages 12 and under), and catering by Bono’s Barbeque & Grill.

Admission is $20 for adults and includes a $5 concession voucher for use that evening. Children’s admission is $12 (ages 12 and under). All children who come to the showing in costume will receive a free “Kid’s Pack” including a child size popcorn, drink, and fruit snacks.

Seating is limited. Tickets are available online at www.cinemaworldonline.com/vero and at the Majestic 11 box office.

The ELC is a non-profit nature center located off CR510 at the western end of the Wabasso bridge. Its 64-acre island campus is open to the public six days a week. There is no admission for visiting. In June 2008 ELC’s main exhibit hall, classroom and bathrooms were destroyed by a lightning-caused fire. Proceeds from this Omni Financial/Majestic event are aiding ELC’s Fire Fund Campaign. The new facilities are being built following green construction practices including a photovoltaic energy system funded by The William Bingham Foundation.
