Karen Lou Baker-Yates, 68, of Sebastian, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at Orlando Regional Medical Center.She was born May 29, 1941 in Klammath Falls, Ore., and was a resident of Sebastian since 1998, coming from California.Ms. Baker was a homemaker and a member and past President of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She also was active in service work at the Orioles and Eagles in Sebastian.Survivors include her husband of 12 years, Jimmy Yates of Sebastian; two daughters Janet Wagner of Sebastian and Debbie Wagner of Sebastian; son James Yates, Jr. of Port St. Lucie; two sisters Rhonda Lord and Jeannie Lubin both of Stockton, Calif.; and four grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 at the VFW with a reception to follow.
