Vero Beach High School presents “Back to the 80’s the Musical”

VERO BEACH — On Saturday, Oct. 24 the Vero Beach High School Theatre Ensemble will present “Back to the 80’s The Totally Awesome Musical” at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center.  The show is directed by Dee Rose, with choreography by Andrew Currie of dance space and musical direction by Karen Wiggins of Alpha and Omega Music and will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Vero Beach High School Theatre Ensemble is a competitive team of upper level theatre students who compete annually in district and state events.  In addition to competitions, the VBHS Theatre Ensemble puts on many public performances throughout the year, at the school and throughout the community.

To open the theatre season, they are presenting the full version of their competition show “Back to the 80’s” about a man who looks back on his high school years in the eighties.  Through his memories, take a journey through his loves, his laughs, and a time when Atari was cutting edge technology, from the era that brought the world the Rubik’s Cube, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  The show includes popular hits such as “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” (Wham!), “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” (Cindy Lauper), “Man In The Mirror” (Michael Jackson), “Walking on Sunshine” (Katrina And The Waves), “Total Eclipse of the Heart” (Bonnie Tyler) and many more.

Tickets are $5 general admission, on sale starting October 19 at the box office.
