James “Jim” Slattery, 78, of Sebastian, died Oct. 6, 2009 at Sebastian River Medical Center.
He was born in Glen Ridge, N.J. and lived in Sebastian for 18 years coming from Payette, Idaho. He was the Vice-President of Teton Machine Co., Payette, Idaho and was a member of the United Church of Sebastian, Sebastian. Slattery was also a member of the Natural Resources Board for the City of Sebastian and a member of the NRA.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lois Slattery of Sebastian; son, Ed Slattery and wife, Susan of Cockeysville, Md.; daughters, Lois Spender and husband, Frank of Hackettstown, N.J., Jamie Slattery of Minneapolis, Minn.; brothers, Raymond Slattery of Jupiter, Richard Slattery of Allentown, Penn.,; sister, Betty Ann Ryan of Winchester, Va.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Spender.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mr. Slattery is being transferred to the Cochran’s Funeral Home in Hackettstown, N.J. for services and burial in Rockaway Valley Cemetery, Boonton Township, N.J.
