Marcia Littlejohn loses local talk show

Special from Vero Beach 32963

VERO BEACH — Local legend of loquacity Marcia Littlejohn is stepping down from the set of her talk show at Channel 10, according to our sister publication Vero Beach 32963.

After asking management for a reduced schedule in the future, Littlejohn says she came back from a vacation in Vietnam to find they had taken her at her word – just a little sooner than she expected, though she says she “should have known when I saw the walls painted, new furniture and the bosses were acting strange.” She herself had recommended Christi Knight as her fill-in, and the station agreed. Knight has taken over her spot on her interview show called Talk.

Littlejohn has been on local airwaves since the ’60s, and became a household name in Vero with a show “Live on the Deck at Waldo’s” on WTTB, the AM talk radio station.

She went on to host Vero Beach Live! On Treasure Coast Television. In 1998, she joined WWCI-TV, the fledgling independent channel (Channel 11 on Comcast Cable) with a show of the same format: local people talking about local issues.

Littlejohn says she will stay on with the station, working on special projects.

Knight, a one-time local talent agency owner who for years organized fashion shows and tea room modeling, has been at the forefront of ratcheting up Vero’s fashion sense.

Knight and her partner in Twochix productions, Angie Murphy-Gamand, have been producing the show Style X for six years on the local channel, and reporting on entertainment for  the “Seen on the Scene” segments for WPBF-25, the West Palm Beach ABC affiliate.
