VERO BEACH — Breon Allen, Warner’s talented junior RB, ran wild on the Pirates defense Friday night to the tune of 4 touchdowns to help Warner Christian Academy to a 50-7 triumph over St.Edwards.
The Pirates faced No. 4 rated Warner in what was going to be a clash of two teams ready for district battle. Both entered the game 2-1, and ready to start district play. After each team’s first offensive series, it was apparent how good Warner really was. This team was athletic, well-coached, and very physical. They were so physical, in fact, that they put leading rusher Kollin Kite and lockdown defensive back Chris Barbato out of the game with injuries. Without two of their most athletic players, the Pirates were unable to mount a comeback after going down 43-7 at halftime.
The lone SES TD came on a 38-yard run by fullback Cameron Budde in the second quarter.
The Pirates hit the road for the first time this season when they play at Florida Air Academy next Friday.
